Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. About These Website Terms

These terms explain the general basis on which Parkwood Fencing & Decking ("we", "us", "our") operates. This website is provided to advertise our services and allow potential customers to contact us. It does not enable customers to purchase services or enter into a contract online.

Submitting an enquiry through this website does not create a contract, confirm a booking or oblige either party to proceed with any work.

We're based in Medway and work across Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Gravesend and the surrounding Kent area. If anything here is unclear, get in touch before confirming a job and we'll happily talk it through.

2. Quotations & Project Agreements

Every project is considered individually. After discussing the proposed work and, where appropriate, carrying out a site visit, we may provide a written quotation or working agreement setting out the agreed scope, price, materials, timescale and any relevant project-specific conditions.

A quotation is not a confirmed booking until both parties have agreed to proceed in writing and any requirements stated in the quotation or working agreement have been met.

3. Deposits & Payment

Deposit requirements, payment stages and payment dates may vary depending on the nature, value, duration and material requirements of the project. These arrangements will be discussed with the customer and recorded in the applicable quotation or working agreement before the project is confirmed.

Where the project-specific quotation or working agreement contains different or more detailed payment terms, those terms will apply to that project.

4. Changes To The Work

Any change to the agreed scope, materials, price or timescale will be discussed between the parties. Wherever practical, changes and any resulting additional costs will be agreed in writing before the additional work is carried out.

5. Access & Site Preparation

You're responsible for making sure we have reasonable access to the work area, and for letting us know about anything that might affect the job — including underground pipes, cables, drains, or shared boundaries with neighbours. Please let us know before work starts if any part of the garden needs to be cleared.

6. Materials & Workmanship

We supply and source materials as standard, using pressure-treated timber, concrete posts and gravel boards for fencing, and appropriate boards and subframes for decking, unless otherwise agreed. All work is carried out to a recognised trade standard by NVQ qualified tradespeople.

7. Guarantees

We guarantee our workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of completion. This covers defects arising from how the work was carried out, but does not cover damage caused by extreme weather events, accidental damage, misuse, or normal wear and tear. Materials are covered separately by the relevant manufacturer's warranty, where one applies.

8. Delays & Weather

Fencing and decking work is weather-dependent. We'll always try to keep to the agreed timeframe, but heavy rain, high winds or ground conditions may occasionally cause short delays. We'll keep you updated if this happens.

9. Cancellation

Cancellation arrangements will depend on the circumstances of the individual project, including whether materials have been ordered, work has begun or other reasonable costs have been incurred. Any project-specific cancellation arrangements will be set out in the applicable quotation or working agreement.

We will discuss any proposed cancellation fairly and reasonably, taking into account the work completed, materials ordered and costs genuinely incurred. Nothing in these terms affects the customer's statutory rights, including any applicable cancellation rights under consumer law.

10. Relationship Between These Terms & The Project Agreement

These website terms provide general information only. The quotation or working agreement accepted for an individual project will contain the specific commercial arrangements applying to that project.

If there is any inconsistency, the project-specific written agreement will take priority, except where doing so would limit rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Liability & Insurance

We hold public liability insurance and take reasonable care to protect your property while working. Our liability for any loss or damage is limited to the value of the work carried out under the relevant quote, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

12. Complaints

If you're not happy with any part of the work, please get in touch as soon as possible so we can put it right. We aim to respond to any concerns within a reasonable timeframe and resolve issues fairly.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Contact Us

If you have any questions about these terms, you can reach us on 07563 015571 or via our contact page.
